Robert Gibbs puts the "BLAST" on Republicans and their "Patriotism" (Video)

This is all about the Republicans crying that Obama will make a day trip to pitch the 2016 Olympics for Chicago. Republicans, Chicago, Illinois is part of the United States of America (last I heard), but you would think differently with the GOP. Good job, Gibbs.

Is Robert Gibbs wobbly on the public option? You decide. (Video)

From This Week With George Stephanopoulos:

To Obama, “…how stupid, naive or lame can you be…”

This was from the Ed Shultz radio program, from Ed Schultz on the Obama stance or lack of stance for the public option.

And the way things are swinging now, I concur.

President Barack Obama can play around all day long on the “will he or will he not” game of public option, but it will be the Democrats who lose in 2010.

The Obama White House and Democrats in congress have been horrendous on the message of any health care package. Instead of making congress sit their tails in office for August and hammer out this legislation, congress went home and is getting the wrath of the well oiled lobbyists organizations that is causing chaos at these town hall meetings.

The main obstruction of these disruptions at the town hall meetings is to provide MISINFORMATION and hope that the media will repeat it, and they have in droves. The Obama White House should not have been shocked, stunned or surprised at any of this. Mr. Obama has continued to say that the other side will do anything to disrupt conversations, dialogue of healthcare reform. So, if he knew this why was the White House and Democrats in congress ill prepared for what we have witnessed going on?

Over the weekend there has been a slew of will we, won’t we, can we, could we information from the Obama White House and his surrogates sending out mixed messages all over the place. With all the friends below, it is easy to see how the public option can be totally NIXED from the conversation.

The Obama White House and the Democrats argument should be simple, “Do you know that you are a job away from not having any health insurance for you and your family?” “Are you unemployed? If so, can you afford the $1500.00 a month COBRA payment offered for you and your family?” “Do you know that we already have a public option in place for members of congress and the Federal Government? And why can’t the citizens of this country be offered the same option for lower costs?” “As health care costs continue to rise, do you know it is highly probable that your premiums can double by next year?”

These are the questions that needs to be presented to the public, but the Obama White House and the Congressional Democrats are numb on all the above.

I don’t care how this health care reform or health care insurance reform is crafted; one thing I do know is that it better have a SOLID PUBLIC OPTION. If not, the Democrats are in serious trouble come 2010 and Barack Obama may be going back to Chicago sooner rather than later, as planned.

The Obamas LGBT White House Reception

The Obamas received hundreds for the LGBT reception in the East Room of the White House

Despite skepticism among the gay community and a wary sense that President Obama might not have the courage to deliver on his campaign promises, he got a pretty good reception from LGBT attendees at his Pride Month reception at the White House Monday.

Obama drew early and enthusiastic applause from the crowd of 250-300 LGBT families, volunteers, community leaders, federal employees, state and local lawmakers, and heads of LGBT lobbying/activist organizations gathered in the East Room as he called out greetings to openly gay appointees and gay rights activists, then delivered remarks for about 20 minutes. (Hear audio of Obama's remarks here.)

"Welcome to your White House," he said to the crowd as he addressed it.

As noted elsewhere, Obama has yet to earn the trust of many in the gay political community. His administration hasn't prioritized a repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell in Congress; its Justice Department defended the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), the Clinton-signed bill that defines marriage as between a man and a woman--an opinion that's been called insulting to the gay community. He doesn't believe in gay marriage. The message gays have been gleaning from the administration thusfar is: be patient.

President Obama promised the Gay Community won't be disappointed in the end
"We seek an America in which no one feels the pain of discrimination based on who you are or who you love, and I know that many in this room don't believe that progress has come fast enough, and I understand that," he said. "It's not for me to tell you to be patient anymore than it was for others to counsel patience to African-Americans who were petitioning for equal rights a half century ago. But I say this: We have made progress, and we will make more. And I want you to know that I expect and hope to be judged not by words, not by promises that I made, but by promises that my administration keeps ... We've been in office six months now. I suspect that by the time this administration is over, I think you guys will have pretty good feelings about the Obama administration."

But Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told Chuck Todd of MSNBC/NBC that by 2012 DOMA will be repealed:

President Obama with daughter, Sasha

The President, wearing a pink Hawaiian lei introduced members of his family – also in leis – and the newest member of the Obama family.

“The star of the family,” Obama called him, “Bo Obama.”

The President’s remarks were brief, just under two minutes and he wrapped up by thanking members of Congress for the “unbelievable work” they are doing for the American people.

The Obamas along with the families and the members of Congress, will enjoy a Hawaiian meal made by famed Hawaiian chef Alan Wong who was flown in for the event.

The menu: Wasabi potato salad, Farm green salad, Lomi Lomi salmon, Stuffed new potatoes, BBQ baby back ribs, Kalua Pig, Shrimp and clams, Tilapia tempura rolls, Crispy chicken hoagie, Grilled lamb chops. Spiced short ribs and Strawberry Tiramisu and Chocolate bars for dessert. read more here....

DAYUM!!! When it rains, it pours, DNC Chairman Tim Kaine hits Michael Steele

When it rains, it pours.

It truly does.

The unfolding of the Republican Party is like watching a movie with your popcorn.

First, Rahm Emanuel, Chief of Staff to President Obama calls out Rush Limbaugh as the Leader of the Republican Party and honors him.

Then we have Steele on CNNs D.L. Hughley's Show stating that Rush Limbaugh is not the head of the Republican Party. That Steele is the de-facto leader of the Republican Party.

Rush Limbaugh closes out CPAC with a scurrilous speech, truly nasty verbal viagra.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs challenges Congressional Republicans, if they agree with Limbaugh in wanting this country to fail?

King Rush then hits Steele and puts him in his place, which made him run like a dog with his tail between his legs, following the King to apologize.

Now Governor Kaine, DNC Chairman comes swinging:

“I was briefly encouraged by the courageous comments made my counterpart in the Republican Party over the weekend challenging Rush Limbaugh as the leader of the Republican Party and referring to his show as ‘incendiary’ and ‘ugly.’ However, Chairman Steele’s reversal this evening and his apology to Limbaugh proves the unfortunate point that Limbaugh is the leading force behind the Republican Party, its politics and its obstruction of President Obama’s agenda in Washington. Just this weekend, Rush Limbaugh repeated his claim that he is rooting for the President to fail. The last time Rush Limbaugh said he wanted the President to fail, virtually every single Republican in Congress followed his lead and voted against the President’s plan to create or save 3.5 million jobs.

“As Congress works to pass the President’s budget, Republicans need to stop following divisive figures like Rush Limbaugh, stop apologizing to him and put aside the failed politics of the past so we can put our economy back on track, reform our health care system, break our dependence on foreign oil, improve our schools, and lay the foundation for long-term growth in the 21st Century.”

People are turning away and tuning OUT on this Rush Limbaugh crap. Folks don't want this country to fail. The failure of the United States of America is the failure of each and everyone of us. Rush Limbaugh makes roughly 38M a year, he is the last person to be talking about failure for anyone. Unless you are rolling in the Limbaugh dough, then hey, you are on the same page as him, but most of America is not. We need Obama to succeed, too many folks are unemployed, no health insurance, families in dire straits, all folks life savings lost on the stock market. We need this president to succeed and King Rush to just go away.

White House Slams the "Rick Rant" (Video)

And if you have not heard of the RICK RANT, a man who wants to be significant, view here.

Gibbs schools them at the presser, today.

"I also think that it’s tremendously important that for people who rant on cable television – to be responsible and understand what it is they’re talking about. I feel assured that Mr. Santelli doesn’t know what he’s talking about," Gibbs said during the daily White House briefing for reporters, .......read more here

Obama's First State of the Union Expected in February (Video)

I am glad this question was answered because I was wondering when or if he was going to address the joint session of Congress. The reason for wondering is that this speech is usually given in January.

President Barack Obama plans to address a joint session of Congress next month to deliver a State of the Union-style speech.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Friday that Obama plans a speech at the Capitol in February. Gibbs said no date has been set but joked that they are trying to schedule it around "Dancing with the Stars."

Obama's Communication Staff

Obama-Biden Team are rolling out their communication staff.

If you don’t already know him, get used to seeing this man. His will be the face of the Obama White House.

Robert Gibbs was the communications director, and later a senior strategist, for the Obama campaign, and now President-elect Barack Obama has tapped him to be his administration’s press secretary.

Mr. Gibbs, along with David Axelrod, Mr. Obama’s chief strategist, and David Plouffe, his campaign manager, formed the inner circle of the Obama campaign. The Times’s Jim Rutenberg recently noted that “In taking over the White House lectern, Mr. Gibbs will be a press secretary with the closest relationship to an incoming United States president in memory.”

Another name familiar to those on the Obama press list also has a permanent position, according to a transition team press release (not from him, though he is currently the communications director for the transition): Daniel H. Pfeiffer. He has been named the deputy director of communications in the new White House. In addition to having worked for the campaign, Mr. Pfeiffer is among the Senator Tom Daschle alumni populating the ranks of the Obama organization, having been his deputy campaign manager during the former majority leader’s unsuccessful reelection bid. continue
