Republican Party, 89% White and that is the problem

Many are watching in fascination while senate republican leaders stick their tails between their legs and run in a circle. In the meantime, King Rush, President Gingrich, and other nitwits are out there defining the Republican Party and damaging it more in the eyes of the very folk they need on their side, the minority voter.

I still vividly remember watching both the Democratic National Convention and the Republican National Convention and the stark difference. The DNC had more African-Americans, Latinos, American Indians, Asians and women. The DNC was infused with the young and old, it was totally mixed. Then you watched the RNC and all you could see for miles and miles to go was old, middle aged white men. Hardly any minorities and if they were there, you had to pluck them from the crowd.

That is the problem with the Republican Party.

As the Judge Sonia Sotomayor show continues tomorrow on Capitol Hill with her courtesy calls to senate members, it is the far right conservative wing that is pouncing on the republican senators to filibuster her. And my question is why? After the leaderless Republican Party let the likes of King Rush and President Gingrich pounce on Judge Sotomayor with despicable names, angering the Latino voters, WHO THEY NEED, that they would consider filibustering this nomination? Where is the spine in this party? Does anyone have one? Do they understand that minorities will be the majority by 2042? Do they care about this party becoming extinct? Obviously, not.

With more evidence in your face, the Republican Party per Gallup Poll is 89% white and that is their problem moving forward.

More than 6 in 10 Republicans today are white conservatives, while most of the rest are whites with other ideological leanings; only 11% of Republicans are Hispanics, or are blacks or members of other races. By contrast, only 12% of Democrats are white conservatives, while about half are white moderates or liberals and a third are nonwhite.

Yet, the Republican Leadership continues to let the blowhards like Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, Gingrich, Buchanan carry their race water, speak their code language, while these senators sit in D.C. with nothing to say.

2010 is around the corner and folks remember, just watch the 527 ads roll out on Spanish Language stations next year, all talking about Sotomayor and how the Republicans treated her. With that rollout will be pictures of Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Gingrich, Buchanan and all the nasty language they had to say about Judge Sotomayor. All of this will be filed under, REPUBLICAN.

Folks remember.
