Abortion Doctor Murdered in Church (Updated)

And this is supposed to be, "Praise be to God", by murdering someone in God's House? Simply, speechless.

A suspect in this morning's fatal shooting of abortion doctor George Tiller is in custody and on his way back to Wichita, Wichita Deputy Police Chief Tom Stolz said at a news conference late this afternoon.

The 51-year-old male suspect was arrested without incident on Interstate 35 in Johnson County about three hours after the shooting, Stolz said.

Police did not release the suspect's name.

The investigation is in its "infancy stages," Stolz said. He said the shooting appeared to be an isolated act.

Tiller, 67, was shot once just after 10 a.m. in the lobby of Reformation Lutheran Church at 7601 E. 13th St., where he was a member of the congregation.

Stolz said Tiller was shot in the foyer of the church. There were three or four eyewitnesses, he said. Six to 12 people were in the foyer at the time of the shooting.

Two men attempted to apprehend the suspect, but he pointed a gun at them and threatened them before fleeing, Stolz said. continue.....

This was a horrible death, inside the House of the Lord. It will be worse if it is by some anti-abortion nut, unfortunately it probably was. Talk about terrorism, that is what this was, the home grown style.
President Obama's Statement:

President Obama issued a statement today condemning the shooting death this morning of Kansas abortion doctor George Tiller.

Obama said in a statement, "However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence."

[UPDATED]

Shooter identified:
July 7, [1997], Kansas: Scott Roeder is sentenced to sixteen months in state prison for parole violations following a 1996 conviction for having bomb components in his car trunk. Roeder, a sovereign citizen and tax protester, violated his parole by not filing tax returns or providing his social security number to his employer.

So, we had a far right winged, domestic terrorist driven nut to shoot down a doctor in church, lovely. I don't care which side of the fence you are on in regards to a woman's right to choose, gunning someone down in church should never be an option. That is extreme and that is home grown terrorist behavior, period.

Attorney General Eric Holder's Statement
The murder of Doctor George Tiller is an abhorrent act of violence, and his family is in our thoughts and prayers at this tragic moment. Federal law enforcement is coordinating with local law enforcement officials in Kansas on the investigation of this crime, and I have directed the United States Marshals Service to offer protection to other appropriate people and facilities around the nation. The Department of Justice will work to bring the perpetrator of this crime to justice. As a precautionary measure, we will also take appropriate steps to help prevent any related acts of violence from occurring.
