Shirley Sherrod on THE VIEW (Video)
Elisabeth Hasselbeck with her "Hatch Act" question? Totally, SHUT DOWN...I mean she FAILED big time...
And how the administration, the USDA, under the Obama Administration fired her...unbelievable, if Sherrod does not take the job offer who can blame her after how she was treated by this administration and how she was USED as a right wing political pawn with the race card used as a wedge...

Racism alive and well, case and point, former Congressman Tom Tancredo (Video)
Has anyone ever questioned why the Tea Party movement has no persons of color? NONE. It is stuff like this that is so wrong on many levels, that idiots like Tancredo are not called out on it. It is also stuff like this that is a total turnoff to most Americans.
And it took Meghan McCain on The View to totally go off on the Tea Party movement and Tancredo:

In case you missed it, Jesse Ventura lit it up on Hannity (Video)
Yes, Jesse Ventura has been making the rounds talking about torture and slamming the Republicans and also Democrats. He gave Elisabeth Hasselbeck a cup of STFU, he schooled Larry King, now he went into the den with Hannity. Damn, why can't we get a Democrat to stand up and say the very things that former Governor Jesse Ventura has said about torture. Just a pity.

Obama Morning Break. October Surprise?

Barack in Asheville, North Carolina
••
October Surprise?
First, listen to what Chris Matthews had to say about the lowness and pathetically lame McCain Campaign to attempt to change the subject of the economy to "Obama".
We know all we need to know about Barack Obama. We know about Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers, and Tony Rezko, all of them. This crap came out during the primaries and we better be damn glad it did.
Why?
Because this shit now is irrelevant. Anyone shocked at the good Reverend, or Bill Ayers who was bombing stuff when Obama was 8, or Tony Rezko when it was found out after 3 years of FBI investigation Obama had nothing to do with his schemes, they probably won't vote for Obama. That vote is called, "excuse not to vote for Obama, because we don't want to be called a 'racist'" excuse.
Look, it is painful to see John McCain, a distinguished, war hero have to go this low because he can't beat Obama fair and square on the issues.
McCain is out of touch, uncomfortable with the economic situation. He has no "ball setting, heart wrenching" plans to give to the American Public, but tax cuts. That is not enough with less than 30 days to go, when you are diving in the state and national polls at an alarming rate. So, smear tactics here we go.
Tonight is the second presidential debate in Nashville, Tennessee. The format is town hall meeting; many say a gold mine for McCain, one he excels at. McCain can attempt to bring up Wright, Ayers and Crew all he wants, but remember what happened to Hillary Clinton after the Philadelphia Debate. Yes, she won, but in the end it did not work because she is not debating McCain tonight.
Folks are hurting, losing their retirement/401K, can't afford any outside luxuries, unable to afford gasoline prices, the last thing they want or need is bullshit distractions played by these candidates.
McCain can go down this road, his lipstick pit bull is carrying his dirty water already, but she is a mockery on herself. Who is listening to Sarah Palin? She already discredited herself to the public by not being qualified for jack, at this point.
In the end, this dirty tactic will not work for McCain. He better come up with some policy, program for the public to embrace regarding the economy or get ready to go back to the senate in November.
for real.

CNN POLL: Majority think country headed for depression
A new national poll suggests that six in ten Americans think another depression is likely.
In a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll out Monday afternoon, 59 percent of those questioned say that its very or somewhat likely that another depression could occur in the United States. Four in ten Americans say it not likely another depression will occur.
The country went through a decade long depression following the stock market crash of 1929, in which roughly one out of four workers were unemployed, banks failed across the country, and millions of ordinary Americans were temporarily homeless or unable to feed their families.
Eight in ten of those polled say things are going badly in the country today and 84 percent rate the economic conditions as poor.
"The question on how things are going in the country is the longest trend on the public's mood in polling history, and in 34 years, Americans have never had such a negative view," said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "That 20% mark is an all-time low the makes the mood of the country worse today than it was during Watergate, the Iran hostage crisis, or the aftermath of 9/11." continue

Obama Evening Wrap Up....Palin Begging for Hillary Voters

dover, new hampshire
::
Still Wanting Hillary Voters, Just Not Ready for Prime Time
To be honest, what Hillary voter would fall for Sarah Palin? This woman, first off is not Hillary. Second, her postitions are a 180 to Hillary. Third, anyone voting for Palin it is personal about Barack Obama.
But Palin still is wanting the Clinton voters, stating Obama should have put her on the ticket.
After watching Palin last night on ABC, my conclusions were sealed. She is nothing. I mean, absolutely nothing.
The questions on foreign policy was startling. The look on Charlie Gibson's face and he was being nice, told the story. The woman is an empty pantsuit. See for yourself, here:
Sorry, folks, Sarah Palin was clearly scripted and tried to dance around the "Bush Doctrine" questions, indicated we could go to war with Russia, a Bush/Cheney hardliner and is just clueless. First off, Senator Claire McCaskill was frank today. Want to go to war with Russia? Draft time. And Chris Matthews, from Hardball nails it about Palin:
This is a woman who is a heartbeat away from the presidency, with a presidential candidate who is 72 years old and had 4 bouts of cancer. Do we really want her in charge? As Matt Damon said, "She will have the nuke codes." Do we? After last night, she is incredibly frightening, a Bush/Cheney in a skirt, and is NOT HILLARY CLINTON.
Oh, since Charles Gibson did ask the questions, her next spot is Sean Hannity, Fox News, a non-journalist hack who will not ask the questions.

Ladies of "The View" Take it to McCain
Senator John McCain bounded onto the set of “The View” this morning, perhaps expecting a fun session chatting with the ladies about the softer side of his presidential campaign.
But once he settled onto the couch, he got a pretty good grilling — on earmarks, on his erstwhile image as a “maverick” and, of course, about his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin. He also defended his ads against Senator Barack Obama, saying “they are not lies,” and his wife, Cindy, who appeared later, declined to answer a question about how many houses the McCains own.
Mr. McCain also had some kind words for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, who may have been the first choice for president among many viewers of “The View.” The show is watched by 3.4 million people, according to Nielsen, 78 percent of whom are women and whose median age is 56 years old.
A visit to “The View” is becoming a rite of passage for candidates as they try to shore up their appeal among women (Mr. McCain also taped a segment today for the Rachael Ray show.)
Anyway, Ms. Walters led off the questioning of Mr. McCain, and right away set the tone for the rest of the interview.
She first asked Mr. McCain to defend his earlier statement that Ms. Palin was “the greatest vice presidential candidate in the history of the United States.” Was he perhaps overlooking John Adams or George H.W. Bush? continue
Video of the full interview, here.

Which Country is First to McCain?
A good question.
"Just ask the machinists in Pennsylvania who build Harley-Davidsons," Obama said of McCain's record. "Because John McCain didn’t just oppose the requirement that the government buy American-made motorcycles, he called Buy American provisions 'disgraceful.' Just ask the workers across this country who have seen their jobs outsourced. The very companies that shipped their jobs overseas have been rewarded with billions of dollars in tax breaks that John McCain supports and plans to continue.
"So, when American workers hear John McCain talking about putting 'Country First,'" Obama said, "it’s fair to ask –- which country?"

barack opts out of public financing....
good for barack, bad for mccain who is struggling to raise money....
John McCain's campaign treated the news of Barack Obama abandoning the public financing system with the expected disdain, calling it evidence that Obama is "just another typical politician who will do and say whatever is most expedient for Barack Obama."
But the comment may be tinged with more than a bit of envy.
McCain's fundraising has improved dramatically since he secured the nomination in early March. But unlike Obama, he's had to do it the very hard way, slogging through fundraiser after fundraiser, shaking hand after hand.
::
Why Obama Should Visit Alaska?? And I mean visit it soon, especially with a now poll out from Rasmussen.
Nate a.k.a. poblano has the run down, here.
::
Throughout the primary campaign no one can deny that Hillary Clinton brought out some zingers against Barack Obama.
She pushed and emphasized the "bitter comments"; then Clinton says that she and McCain have passed the commander in chief threshhold; she pounced on the Reverend Wright fiasco to Richard Mellon Scaife of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and on and on.
Much of the above is the reason I see that she will not be the vice-presidential candidate. Use your imagination and see the 527 ads if she is the candidate, or better yet see these ads come out ANYWAY with she and former President Clinton pounding Obama, using their video clips for negative ads. Yes, this is why she won't be on the ticket.
Well, when we have a young senator, new to the D.C. scene, don't have much for a voting record in the senate, what else would you expect the McCain to do? Just rehash all the Clinton attacks from the primary.
Voters thinking the Republican lines of attack against Sen. Barack Obama sound familiar aren't experiencing deja vu - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton previewed several of them during the primary campaign.
Democrats warned that the prolonged Obama-Clinton battle could give Republicans ammunition, and they have been proved right as Mrs. Clinton's harsher words resurface in campaign missives from Sen. John McCain and national, state and local Republicans.
He is naive and inexperienced on foreign policy, Mrs. Clinton suggested for months. Republicans have echoed the attacks.
Democrats now want to move past the nasty fight and Clinton backers are standing by Mr. Obama's side, but Republicans aren't eager to let the opposing party forget its warring.
Is the McCain Campaign in a good place? I don't think so. Will this work? Some things may, but many of us have heard all this and still many others have not.
Remember this, though many of us have followed the primary, etc., still many Americans know nothing about the Obamas. The majority of the people in this country will start to pay attention to this election after Labor Day, as we saw movement for the Democratic Primaries last year.
As we see Cindy McCain, back out on the beaten path of rehashing the Michelle Obama patriotism comments. It is peculiar this time around to see a wife of a presidential candidate to directly go against the other wife of the other presidential candidate. But carrying the dirty water, Cindy McCain did this morning on GMA (Good Morning America).
This coming from a woman with a laundry list of issues from her past. Remember, this is going to be personal assault on the Obamas from the GOP. It is just beginning.

I don't know if you know about this, but on Monday at the Detroit Rally for the Gore endorsement of Obama, two muslim women in their native garb were denied sitting behind Obama and Gore during the televised rally.
My sentiments, what a shame. This should not have happened, period. The Obama Campaign called the women and apologized, but there is an article in the New York Times of how the campaign is tightening its control of the image of Obama.
Here is the beginning and you can read the rest here.
The Obama campaign is vigilantly fighting erroneous information that has spread on the Internet that he is Muslim — he is, in fact, Christian — and emphasizing his patriotism and American story, with flags in abundance. In Washington on Wednesday, he invited photographers to his meeting with new members of his national security team and retired military officers supporting his candidacy.
The campaign on Monday barred cameras from a large gathering of African-American civic leaders Mr. Obama attended. It recently refused to provide names of religious figures with whom Mr. Obama met in Chicago and directed some of them to avoid reporters by using a special exit. And on Wednesday, the campaign orchestrated Michelle Obama’s appearance on the friendly set of “The View” and a flattering spread in the pages of Us Weekly.
“One of the challenges that we are confronting very directly is dealing with the rumors and the e-mails, the inaccurate information about Senator Obama and Michelle Obama,” Ms. Dunn said, “and we’re going to deal with that very aggressively through a number of mediums.”
While the strategy has won compliments from political professionals of both parties, who say Mr. Obama’s campaign is exhibiting a high level of discipline, it has also created some early turbulence for a candidate who has run on promises of openness and cultivated a grass-roots following and a cottage industry of homemade campaign videos, memorabilia and street murals.
