I am in Indiana today, visiting family and doing some Obama stuff.
But I had to weigh in on this.
When you are behind or perceived behind in the polls, not winning the day or week politically, what you don't do is shit that you HAVE BEEN DOING.
From all the McCain tricks, gimmicks, ridiculousness, this here is totally over the top.
••
Inside John McCain’s campaign the expectation is growing that there will be a popularity boosting pre-election wedding in Alaska between Bristol Palin, 17, and Levi Johnston, 18, her schoolmate and father of her baby. “It would be fantastic,” said a McCain insider. “You would have every TV camera there. The entire country would be watching. It would shut down the race for a week.”
Yeah, did you read that? Do you get it?
I don't know if this will happen, but let me tell you what I think.
Many have different opinions of Palin, her parenting skills, and touting her pregnant, unwed, teen daughter out for everyone to see. Many think that it is not only tacky, but to elevate your daughter on a national stage is well, not a role model many parents want their daughters and sons to look at.
So, why on earth would the McCain Campaign even think about using two teenagers like this? Oh, I know, but speaking as an involved family member of my teen nieces and nephews, this is just not right.
The McCain Campaign have tried stunt, after stunt, to go after the Obama Campaign and that is warranted and understood, but not agreed upon. They are trying to win with tactics, but not strategy, we see that. But you don't use your family members to stall a campaign for a teen wedding that will be looked upon as a "shot gun" type. Sorry, that is what it is. To use trickery to have the media follow a "trumped up wedding" because the ticket is behind in the polls is just ghastly beyond words.
The selection of Palin, 44, the moose-hunting governor of Alaska, as his running mate was one of McCain’s biggest gambles. It paid off handsomely at first, but she could benefit from a fresh injection of homespun authenticity, the hallmark of her style, provided by her daughter’s wedding after appearing out of depth away from her home state.
David Letterman, the late-night television chat show host, joked that Palin’s meetings with world leaders at the United Nations in New York looked like “take your daughter to work day”.
Home spun authenticity? You mean that she has lied so much and continuously on absolutely everything that now the public view her much differently now than then? You mean after Charlie Gibson, Sean Hannity and the infamous Katie Couric interview, now the American public may, just may view her as a dim light bulb? And David Letterman? Well, he chewed McCain up and spat him out, then repeated the same dish the next night. In other words, Letterman's actions were enough of the lies, bullshit and everything else. The public is not stupid or on sleep. Maybe it is time for McCain and Palin to man and woman up and be honest while doing so.
So, now we may have to endure another potential hail mary pass? What about some political honesty with the public, John and Sarah? Have you thought about that one? To dumb down by using family members, to invade on one's personal story or privacy, for the sake flashing cameras and media headlines, to offset a campaign and not deal with the issues is the most weakest ploy any politician can do. But what else can we expect from the McCain Campaign? Desperate is, what desperate does.
Don't get caught in the hype, concentrate on Obama and not the Drama....

Now is the time to work until November 4, 2008, to get Obama and Biden in the White House. Enough of the tricks.
We have 2 steps for November 4th. I am concentrating on the first step that is voter registration. Everyone on this blog should be working daily, doing something for Obama, but more importantly working every weekend to help this campaign. Time to send this link around to get people registered to vote. The first deadline date is coming up and that is October 4, 2008. The next date is October 6, 2008 when 1/2 of this country's deadline ends. It is time to get busy, we don't win this sitting around on blogs, watching tv, or surfing the net. We have to put boots on the ground, stay committed and do something.
