So, Harold Ford, Jr. now wants to be the Senator of New York....
So, he could not win it in Tennessee, relocates to New York, now wants to try it there. PLEASE, this man is more phony that a 25 dollar bill.
New Yorkers, PLEASE, have your eyes wide open on this fake, OK?
Harold Ford arrived in New York through one of its finer entry points: Sag Harbor, an exclusive section of pricey East Hampton, where in 2003 his father and predecessor in Congress bought a spacious house for $1.8 million.
The Sag Harbor spot, with tennis court and pool, was the perfect base for a young congressman from Tennessee who had always looked beyond his safe seat, a perfect platform for the beginnings of his campaign to win over the Hamptons and its exclusive and donor-filled social set — if not New York at large.
Ford’s public deliberation over running for the Senate from New York has drawn the usual charges of carpetbagging and the more serious question of whether he’s out of step with the liberal state’s values. But people close to Ford say the former congressman, a political nomad since childhood, is far more a New Yorker than anything else.
His political weakness, in short, isn’t that he’s not from New York. It’s that he’s spent the time since he lost a race for Senate and took a high-paid job with Merrill Lynch living a gilded Manhattan life available to only a few.
And being married to a former Merrill Lynch CEO, daughter doesn't hurt either.
This man and his corrupt family just need to GO AWAY. And the real kicker, Ford stating he has been to all five borroughs from a helicopter? When was the last time you won votes from the sky? Shit, brothers and sisters, you know what to do about FORD!!! OK?
Read more on Harold Ford, Jr., here, here, here and here.
New Yorkers, please, please, please, have your eyes wide open on this FRAUD.

President Obama's memo to Wall Street during NY fundraiser (Video)
The financial industry joining the White House on financial reform? Folks, you think health care is a fight? The money is already flowing HEAVY through the halls of congress on NO CHANGE after the disastrous irresponsibility of Wall Street. In other words, the rich folks want to remain, RICH. It was Wall Street, the banking industry that paid so much money for deregulation it happened. Does it mean every time Wall Street 'eff up that we, the taxpayer are supposed to bail these rich crooks out? Hell to the naw, on that one, from me, but we saw what happened with Bush and Obama. This industry needs to be regulated and heavy. I don't want another dime going to these crooks. This is the industry that believes heavily in the free market and capitalism, yet they came running to the very government that they despise to save them. After what has happened, regulate them to the mo-fo hilt.
And if you don't get it? Watch the PBS Frontline: The Warning. After watching this you will scratch your head and ask, "Why are the same people who KNEW this was happening are still around? Like in the Obama Administration?"

Much Ado About Nothing....Obama in New York for a DNC fundraiser (Video)
The cable chatter sounds stupid about this New York fundraiser that President Obama is attending this evening. Again, politics and money, two bed fellows, the oil and water, one is nothing without the other. Again, much ado about nothing.

The Democrats have a problem in the name of Charlie Rangel (Update)
As I watched some of Dylan Ratigan's Morning Meeting on MSNBC, one thing that was said is totally right, "...Rangel has been in congress for 20 terms..." Folks, that is 40 years and the ethical mess he is in probably is attuned to Rangel not keeping CURRENT and knowing what is allowed and not in congress. Is it an excuse, NO, but when you are walking around the halls of congress for 40 years, you continue to think and believe that you are the big cheese and unstoppable. This is Rangel.
I have written about Congressman Rangel and his ethic problems, not pretty. Yet again, we see Rangel untouched by forcing him out of his powerful chairmanship of the Ways and Means Committee.
Democrats, if you don't take Rangel out the Republicans eventually will and to your expense.
The Republicans are, however, completely right about Rangel. Whenever a powerful committee chairman has so many problems that you need a timeline to keep all the allegations straight, he is a liability. When those problems revolve around things like failure to pay taxes, it is not a good plan to have him be in charge of tax policy.
I say this with great sadness because Rangel is my congressman. My neighbors and I have heard about the totally ludicrous benefits that are showered upon the constituents of a powerful committee chair. Ever since he took control of the Ways and Means Committee, we have been waiting for our ship to come in. Perhaps bearing a special subsidy for families who live near a large number of pigeons. Or an extra lane on the West Side Highway that only residents of the 15th Congressional District are allowed to use.
Despite my great stake in keeping Rangel in his current post of power, I’m not prepared to argue that you can have a chairman of the tax-writing committee who failed to declare $75,000 in rental income on a Caribbean villa on his tax returns. Or one who seems to think you can turn yourself into a resident of two different cities if it gets you cheaper housing — and that the House only requires its members to list their financial assets beginning with the letters F through M.
The Democrats made no attempt whatsoever to defend Rangel when the Republican resolution came up in the House. They just swiftly and sullenly referred it to the ethics committee, which is currently embarked on Year Two of its Charles Rangel investigation.
The Democrats won the house and senate in 2006 due to the War in Iraq and primarily due to the continuous ETHIC SCANDALS of the Republican Party and their inability to police its own. Democrats, you need to police your own and starting with Rangel.

Chris Matthews on Hardball goes off on the Republicans and their "pissant" criticism of the Obamas going to NYC (Video)
He nails Michael Steele to the wall. Pissant? Indeed. And all those trips to Crawford, Texas from Bush? On the big jumbo 747, everytime? Please. Another whine fest, for the GOP. This argument is moot.

Date Night for the Obamas: NYC, Broadway with RNC Hate (Pictures)
Well, all is negative in Republican Land.
They are now criticizing the Obamas for going to NYC, to Broadway for dinner and a show. The dastardly, nasty beasts. They don't understand that the Obamas have downsized everything and not taking the famous 747 jet. Oh, well when you are in the dumps, you jump on anything and hopes that it sticks. And the Obamas dined at the Blue Hill restaurant in Greenwich Village.
The Obamas dined at the Blue Hill restaurant near Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village, according to White House spokesman Josh Earnest.
h/t Escapade And full hit piece by RNC, here.
Well, you can say the Obamas are at least trying to keep the costs down. They downsized the transportation opting not to take the normal Air Force One 747.
It’s not like they took the $10 Fung Wah Bus either though. They just hopped on a smaller plane. Although it is still called Air Force One, it’s just part of the fleet.
The plane they took this afternoon is an Air Force Gulfstream V (C-37A) — a 12 passenger aircraft. (H/T Mark Knoller). And there are no plans to circle the Statue of Liberty.
I don't understand the RNC hate. The Obamas are a young couple and like to get OUT OF THE BUBBLE. They were not like the Bushs who practically went NO WHERE. And the country likes to see their president out and about with the missus.
Again, when you have no new ideas and running around in circles after your own tail, what else can you expect? Closing on a postive note, Al Rodgers pictures, enjoy!!

The Obamas hitting Broadway tonight
When the pictures are out, I will post. And if you look at President Obama's itinerary to the left, they will leave for NYC shortly. And they are flying in a small plane, not the famous 747 jet.
For all of the people sprawled out on those lawn chairs along shuttered Broadway in Times Square, take note: A certain famous family plans to be awfully close by on Saturday evening.
President Obama and his wife, Michelle, plan to visit New York City on Saturday and take in a Broadway show, the August Wilson play “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone” at the Belasco Theater on West 44th Street, according to three theater executives who have been informed of the First Family’s plans.
The theater executives spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the president’s itinerary, and cautioned that the trip was subject to change.
“The president and the first lady will be making a personal visit to New York tomorrow,” said Bill Burton, a spokesman for the president, who declined to elaborate on the schedule.
The Obamas plan to attend the 8 p.m. performance of “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone,” a critically acclaimed production that has been nominated for six Tony Awards, including best revival of a play. read more here.....

FLOTUS, Michelle Obama in New York for the Arts (Pictures)

First lady Michelle Obama spent her second New York City visit emphasizing the crucial role the arts play in our society, reopening part of the American wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday and later addressing the crowd at a glittering ballet gala.
At both events, Mrs. Obama was greeted with enthusiastic ovations from audiences that included prominent figures in politics, the arts, entertainment and fashion. She stressed the importance of giving young people better access to the arts.
"The arts are not just a nice thing to have or to do if there is free time or if one can afford it," she said at the museum. "Rather, paintings and poetry, music and fashion, design and dialogue, they all define who we are as a people and provide an account of our history for the next generation."
"The president and I want to ensure that all children have access to great works of art," she told a crowd that included students from four New York City public schools that focus on the arts. "We want all children who believe in their talent to see a way to create a future for themselves in the arts community, either as a hobby or as a profession."
And she reminded the audience that her husband, President Barack Obama, had included an additional $50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts in his economic stimulus package.
Mrs. Obama spoke in the newly renovated Charles Engelhard Court, a striking room filled with sunlight, in front of the Greek Revival-style facade of an early 19th-century bank branch that was originally on Wall Street. She wore a bright purple Isaac Mizrahi sheath and coat.
To the amusement of a crowd that included Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., Vogue editor Anna Wintour, former model Iman and designer Ralph Lauren, Mrs. Obama was reminded by museum president Emily Rafferty that she and the president had their first date in a museum.
"Thank you for reminding me," Mrs. Obama said. "You know, after 20-some-odd years of knowing a guy, you forget that your first date was at a museum. But it was, and it was obviously wonderful; it worked." read more here....

FLOTUS' remarks @ the UN
And FLOTUS' biggest thrill? On Sesame Street
Inauguration Day? Nope. First puppy? Negative. Triumphal tour of Europe? Not even. First lady Michelle Obama called her appearance Tuesday on "Sesame Street" probably the best thing she's done since arriving in the White House.
At the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, she thanked the diplomats and staff members promoting her husband's new foreign policy of global engagement.
"I'm thrilled to be here, but I was just at 'Sesame Street' — I'm sorry," she said. "And I never thought I'd be on 'Sesame Street' with Elmo and Big Bird and I was thrilled. I'm still thrilled. I'm on a high."
"I think it's probably the best thing I've done so far in the White House. But we were there talking about nutrition and healthy eating, and it's just been a thrill," Mrs. Obama said.

Obama Morning Break. North Carolina VOTING, HEAVY.

Barack and John McCain at Al Smith Dinner, NYC
••
Vote Early in North Carolina
Mel Watt had a pretty simple message as he marched in the North Carolina A&T University homecoming parade last weekend. "Morning! Vote early! Avoid the rush!" the seven-term member of Congress called out. Watt didn't even bother saying whom to vote for; the crowd at the parade, many of them his constituents, were all pretty excited about the whole Democratic ticket in North Carolina, from Barack Obama on down. Watt's only goal was to get them to bank their votes well before Nov. 4. "Avoid the rush! Vote early!"
Early voting in North Carolina started Thursday; it's one of 31 states (plus the District of Columbia) that allow voters to cast ballots in person ahead of time without providing election officials with a reason they can't be there on Election Day. Which means that as both presidential campaigns shift from registering voters to getting out the vote, the election has actually already started. As much as 30 percent of the votes cast this fall will probably come in before Nov. 4, according to the National Association of Secretaries of State. continue
Hundreds are voting the lines are long in North Carolina. The folks are fired up and voting NOW. Don't know where to go in North Carolina, click here.

The Boss, the Piano Man and the Candidate
Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel were well into their act – playing at the same time, the same stage – when Senator Barack Obama arrived late Thursday night at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
Mr. Obama waited in the wings for nearly an hour before taking the stage.
And not a soul seemed to mind – why would they? – as Billy Joel weighed in with a long reprise of “New York State of Mind.”
After hearing the song at countless rallies, “The Rising,” was played live for Obama fans who filled all tiers of the giant ballroom on West 34th Street in Manhattan. For a moment, Mr. Springsteen jumped onto the grand piano as Mr. Joel played “Allentown.” And later, Mr. Joel grabbed a guitar and joined The Boss for “Glory Days.”
John Legend and India Arie joined the two on stage in an upbeat rendition of “People Get Ready.”
The fund-raising concert benefited the Obama Victory Fund. No total estimate was provided, but tickets ranged from a balcony seat ($500, which sold out quickly) to a lounge ticket for $25,000. The ballroom’s event manager said 1,959 people were on hand.
Except for that monetary detail, it would have been easy to forget that this was an Obama event at all. Until, of course, Mr. Springsteen took his microphone and, surrounded by the other singers said, “Ladies and Gentlemen, you want to bring on the next president of the United States, Barack Obama!” continue

Rise in Voting by Mail Transforms Race in Colorado
The presidential debate had barely ended Wednesday night when Kristin Marshall had her ballot on her lap, pen in hand, ready to vote. Three friends, all supporters of Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee, had their ballots, too.
“Obama’s the second one down — don’t accidentally pick the first,” said Ms. Marshall, 27, a reference to the ballot placement of Senator John McCain, Mr. Obama’s Republican opponent, as her living room of Obama supporters erupted in laughter.
The traditional American vote — a solitary moment behind a black curtain in a booth, civics in secret — was never thus.
With Election Day less than three weeks away, the number of people voting by mail has exploded in Colorado, a closely divided state up for grabs in November. Nearly half of the state’s registered voters have requested ballots by mail, compelling the Obama and McCain campaigns to kick-start their get-out-the-vote efforts — and devise new and imaginative ones. continue
