Clip from 8/7/09 Rachel Maddow Show where Rachel interviews Frank Schaeffer, reformed co-founder of the anti-abortion movement, who paints a chilling picture of potential right-wing violence against President Obama and other Democratic elected leaders.
Again, this violence WILL end up with someone getting hurt, then what Republicans?
and Rachel on busting that "I am only a mom", but a GOP operative in Wisconsin...

And whatever he says can be believed, because he was there, helping the GOP for decades.
I think we should all thank Frank Schaeffer with our gratitude, and possibly even by checking out his book.
Gotta go.... time to go to the bookstore. :)

Also, neither of the two sides are having a very good debate about this matter. The issue at hand is not whether or not healthcare needs to be changed. it is whether or not the current bill should pass. that is the pertinent matter right now.
This guy shouldn't use such broad strokes to paint those people who oppose what the government is doing.

People compare Obama to Hitler and it is insane on many fronts. One of which is that Obama is a moderately progressive centrist politician. He may personally have more left-liberal leaning views, but his politics over the past few years pretty much plays down the left side of center. This was not Hitler's modus operandi at ALL. Secondly, Obama was elected; Hitler was not. Hitler was appointed to his position after his party won the plurality of votes in the election (around 30%). That's how things work in a parliamentary system. To call Obama anything like Hitler is not only ignorant and misinformed, it is devious.
And no offense, because many many other peoples do it to, but even worse than a false dichotomy is moral relativism - this notion that because two sides hate each other that both sides are equally wrong or at fault. This is nonsense, akin to saying there are two-sides to every issue and that's some kind of "moral" reason to take the middle road. Yes there are two sides (or more) to every issue, but that does not give equal weight to both sides. Not all opinions are equal. Don't fall into that trap.
Have a good day. :)
