Obamas Date Night Pictures, Kennedy Center Alvin Ailey Performance

US President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama greet the audience as they attend Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's performance entitled Fiftieth Anniversary Highlights at the Kennedy Center in Washington on February 6, 2009.

Last night, for the first time, President Obama took first lady Michelle Obama to sit in the president's box at the Kennedy Center -- along with daughters Malia and Sasha.

The Obamas stayed for the entire 2 1/4 -hour performance of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at the center's sold-out Opera House. They were accompanied by Attorney General Eric Holder and his wife, Sharon Malone, and Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty and his wife, Michelle.

OK, they're foolin;' you. It's lovely that they took the girls, but that's not what they mean when they talk about "date night". You journalists aren't gonna know when they go on date night, becuase, like, that's the idea.
Oh my goodness they so look great. love Mrs. Obamas dress.
Beautiful First couple.
I was literally underneath them at the show.
Absolutely gorgeous couple! I adore them...

I love it that they expose the daughters to the arts! As a child my parents introduced me to the Arts&Culture and I did the same for my children. Alvin Ailey is my all time favorite.
I just LUV the OBAMAS and their GIRLS!!! BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL!

They look wonderful!!!!!!!!!!! I love getting a chance to view these pictures. It's great to see them so happy. I wish them every happiness and success. We are blessed to have this beautiful family to lead the country.
Our first family are absolutely fantastic. So real and so darling with personality, culture, and the smarts. I pray for them each and every night.
