Has Etta James lost her mind? She slams Beyonce and Barack Obama. (Audio)

Etta James, Etta James, Etta James....

I know she is a jazz legend, but is she on the drugs again? I mean, Etta has heard Beyonce sing this song in the summer, UP CLOSE and PERSONAL, she had nothing but praises for B. Now she slams Beyonce for singing her classic, "At Last" for the Obamas during the televised Neighborhood Ball. This is definitely some old school vs. new school bull crap.

"I can't stand Beyonce! She's going to get her ass whooped," Etta screamed (via) at an event celebrating her career. The chanteuse went on to slam Barack Obama for selecting Ms. Knowles to do the honors. "You know your president, the one with the big ears -- he ain't my president -- he had that woman singing for him at his Inauguration. How dare Beyonce sing my song that I been singing forever!"

Beyonce keep it classy. No need to respond. It is apparent her anger is that she was not asked to sing. President Obama, we know your mantra, above the fray, in other words, "No Comment."

Now I don't wanna get mad at Etta James. I'm not going to let that beautiful moment between our President & First Lady Michelle be spoiled. I want to keep my happy thoughts thinking about them dancing to " At Last".

Etta... talk to the hand...
I agree with everything Etta said, Beyonce is an unoriginal, unethical theif who's also a dummy. She knows nothing of class gyrating like a common stripper and open her legs in public like a common whore.

Wow LakerGirl. Bitter? Etta is crazy. She has seen Beyonce sing that song before. Now all of a sudden, she's talking trash about her. Sounds like a bitter old lady that's mad she didn't get to sing it. I mean, the comments about "he's not my president"???? Come on now.
To make comments about the President's ears & state "He is not my president" is very disrespectful and ignorant. As an older woman, she should be ashamed. Etta should be prideful that people are even talking about her & the song "At Last". If it wasn't for Beyonce singing it, some people wouldn't have known of Etta James. I hope she goes and learns some manners. It has been said, wisdom comes with age but apparently not for Etta James.

(Silly old woman!)
i wonder why we should even make this an issue.......Barack and Beyonce are in a different class......this woman should be left to her jealousy
It is VERY unwise to slam a legend like Etta James on a site dedicated to President Obama. She may have said this in a messy fashion, but she has a right to speak her mind. The inaugural committee simply dropped the ball on this one, I am sorry but they did.

Looking at the balls, you'd think the committee was made up of teenagers or something. The Obamas, if they grew up liking "At Last," grew up liking Etta James' version. So why treat her like she's dead? I wondered about that as well so I understand Etta's frustration.

If you keep knocking down any and everyone who says something critical of Obama--especially Black pioneers, it will only harm President Obama in the end. Trust me on this .....quit throwing people under the bus!!!! President Obama believes in freedom of speech and so should you!

As for Beyonce. ..Guess she couldn't perform "Put A Ring On It" huh? What about "Bootylicious" ? Her catalog of music shows she never should have been picked in the first place.

So just like some are disgusted with Etta's choice of words, I was offended and disgusted that President Obama had woman known for wearing panties and heels and singing "Put a ring on it" sing for his first dance. Do I hate the President and throw him under the bus? NO! And we need not throw our legends out with the bath water either!!
