President Obama's strong words on the path Arizona is going...
...and the Governor of Arizona, Jan Brewer don't give a mickey-fickey, she signed the racial profiling law...
...and why is this Governor signing this horrible law? Teabagger to the right of her in the upcoming Republican primary....
This law is all about if you "look" like a Latino, you will be asked for your PAPERS. Democrats, Republicans you have ran away from doing ANYTHING about this, along with border reform.
Guess what? NOW IS THE TIME. The politics of this is about the Latino voters. If the Republicans continue to allow their supporters to show their "racist hands", which is killing them out here, they will LOOSE the Latino voters for decades to come. Republicans the growing of your base is nil, you need the Latino support. George W. Bush understood that and grew the support in this group in 2004, but because of the racist rhetoric on this issue by 2008, whatever you grew was LOST totally to the Democrats.
And congress, you were ELECTED to solve problems, not run away from problems. If YOU continue on the "scurrred" path, you can easily be replaced and SHOULD.

Latinos threatening to STAY HOME for mid-term elections
Well, there is some anger amongst our base members. Our president promised much but wasted a lot of political capital in not delivering for some. Latinos staying home should be taken seriously.
The health care debacle was a train wreck in many eyes. It was. Political capital was wasted, more than one year on this bill. In the end, Democrats was forced to pass a horrible senate bill and then IMMEDIATELY attempt to fix it. They had to, because nothing domestically that the public can understand was passed in the past two years. The bill had to be passed in the end and the public may not like it now, the polling shows they do not, but it had to be passed.
And the Latinos?
Well, they have been patient wanting this president to tackle immigration reform for some time now and this anger has been building. While the Democrats are working on some sort of Wall Street financial reform package, hoping to get many Americans behind it, a very key demographic group is angry at being dissed, again. To tackle immigration reform, right now, you will need balls and the Democrats don't have that right now, not when they are unsure how the mid-term elections will play out.
As we saw during the final stages of the health-care debate, Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D) isn't shy about taking his complaints public (he said he was going to vote against the health bill before eventually voting for it).
And now he's taking aim at President Obama's immigration policies, suggesting that Latino voters might not participate in the upcoming midterm elections -- if the administration and Democratic congressional leaders don't move forward on a comprehensive immigration bill.
In a press conference today blasting a new anti-immigration law in Arizona, Gutierrez said, "It seems to me that is an option for people to stay home [in November]. The choices have always been framed the following way -- the Republicans are so mean-spirited and so anti-immigrant that they simply push immigrants and Latinos into the waiting arms of Democrats."
"There is a third option for those voters," he added. "They don't necessarily have to fill the ranks of the Democratic Party. They can simply stay home, and that to me is an option that is there. It is not an option that I have called for. But let me be clear: It's not an option I have ruled out... Will I rule it out in the future? Absolutely not!"
Later, when speaking Spanish to Spanish-language reporters, Gutierrez was even harsher toward the Obama administration. "Where is the Justice Department? Here is an injustice against the basic rights. Where is the administration of Barack Obama and his Justice department?"
"And this week -- where is he? On Wall Street in New York talking with bankers. Look, it's time to work on immigration reform!"
Now, no one should stay at home because November is very important, each vote will matter, but I understand the anger. The new Arizona law allows any law enforcement officer to stop any individual of Latino descent and demand they show citizenship proof. Is this racial profiling? Of course it is. What is next, to stop all African-Americans (and we have a wide ethnic variety within our ranks), Asian Americans (again, you can not take a broad brush and paint this group either), or anyone else who is non-Caucasian and demand proof of citizenship? What about demanding Caucasians in this country to produce their citizenship papers? Most will turn their noses up in appalling fashion, if that was the case for them!!!
Is this law another indication that immigration reform needs is in desperate need? Yes, but remember Barack Obama promised that he would work on immigration reform in his first year in office and it has not happened. To be frank, don't expect it until after the 2012 Election; the reality is that the Democrats can not stomach another controversial bill, not before November. And Obama must fix it with this community because they can easily just stay home, what is the point in their eyes!! They voted for this President to do something about immigration reform and he has not even started, this is a problem within this community.
Expect more speeches geared towards the Latinos very soon from President Obama.
More information with polling from Daily Kos.

Senator Max Baucus (D-MT) running ad to defend his position for health insurance reform (Video)
I have to agree with Ben Smith on this one, Baucus running this ad and not up for re-election until 2014. After watching Frontline's Obama's Deal on PBS, Baucus came out as a backstabbing shrew, allowing former health care executives, now lobbyists to write the current health care insurance law. In other words, he did not come out smelling like a rose.

Michelle Obama arrives in Mexico City

U.S. first lady Michelle Obama (R) is received by Mexican U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Carlos Pascual during her arrival at Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City April 13, 2010. Obama is in Mexico on a three-day official visit.
In Mexico City, Obama will initiate an international campaign to encourage young people to take more active roles in their communities. She arrived in Mexico City shortly after 8 p.m. local time Tuesday, greeted by U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Carlos Pascual and Mexico's ambassador to the United States, Arturo Sarukhan.
Obama's visit will include building on her conversation with Mexican first lady Margarita Zavala in areas of mutual interests, the White House said. Besides meeting in private with Zavala, Obama will visit with students and teachers at a public school in Mexico City, speak to university and high school students at Universidad Iberoamericana, participate in a round-table discussion and visit with U.S. Embassy employees and their families.

PBS' Frontline: Obama's Deal (Video)
If all you suspected about the new health care law is here.
Barack Obama abandoned the public option EARLY and caved to a MANDATE to make a deal with the insurance companies.
Will he pay a political price? In my eyes, yes. For me, he is a hypocrite and all these deals will make you sick. In the end, the health care law is not the best we could have gotten, but what the lobbyists and insurance industry was willing to give us. So, did our voices matter? For me, NO. This White House did not listen to me.

Stop talking about health care and get on this recession and JOBS....
Look, the health insurance debate is over. Period.
Many have hardened how they feel about it, whether for or against. Period.
The Democrats and President Obama got to deal with many unhappy campers out here about it and their lack of understanding what this law means now. Democrats had more than a year to sell health insurance reform and did not do a good job, period. We know that, we saw it last summer. Since then the message has NEVER been retained, the Democrats lost the message on this.
Enough of explaining a bill, that was crappy from the onset, that had to be immediately FIXED and now trying to explain what the public will get, but most of it won't start until 2014. Yes, a cluster fuck. In fact, my sister told me that at her job, the human resources phone was ringing off the HOOK because many parents wanted to put their kids onto their insurance plan, IMMEDIATELY. You know the, "you can be insured until 26". Many thought that it would happen immediately, when in fact not until 6-8 months out. Again, misinformation running amuck.
So, can this President and Democrats move to this economy and NO JOBS OUT HERE. Why? Well, many have been unemployed for more than 6 months, with many moving towards over a year. Can we see some movement on how the Democrats plan to cope with this? And can we see some selling of this?
Am I frustrated much? You betcha. The mid-term elections will be about a few things: the econonmy, lack of jobs, fear of losing a job, continued mortage foreclosures in the millions, and anger at all these BAILOUTS to the banks, Wall Street and NO HELP out here for the average joe.
While the President is all smiles with President Medvedev of Russia on a re-boot of the Start Treaty for reduction of nuclear weapons, the public is viewing this as a huge YAWN. Yes, this is important (if it can get through the senate), but to the average joe, NOT MUCH, jobs and this economy is what is important to joe.
So, while President Obama and the Democrats are playing catch up, the polls are continuing to erode and how people feel out here on this very shitty economy is hardening. There is nothing like anger on populist messages to send everyone packing in November and that means, Democrats. Now, one of many stories of foreclosure and job loss.....
Since Richard Brown lost his job to the recession and his Boston home to foreclosure a year ago, he’s been working short-term consulting assignments until he gets back on his feet. In the meantime, he’s been “couch surfing.”
“I’ve lived with my brother, my cousin, my friend and my dad,” he said. “The IRS keeps calling me, asking me: ‘What’s your address?’ And I say, ‘What week is this?’”
Armed with college degree and an MBA, Brown, 49, built a solid resume over three decades as a corporate controller for several Fortune 500 companies, including W.R. Grace and Wal-Mart, before launching his own global consulting business with clients in Europe and Mexico. But when the Panic of 2008 sent clients scrambling, he was unable to keep up with a jump in his mortgage payments and lost his home to foreclosure.

I guess someone in this country MUST take a bullet before GOP leadership find a clue
This right wing horrible hate rhetoric:
Let's be clear, this is not about any health care passage. This is about using the Tea Party, Republican Party and any issue from Barack Obama to spew this hate, period. The deafening silence from the Republican Party, for me, says it is "A-OK" and continue the course. Republican Party, "Where is your leadership?" Also, this bigot was on the GOP talking points about the health insurance bill, which is now law, which every point is inaccurate from his hate speech.
Death threats to Senator Patty Murray (D-WA):
Federal prosecutors have charged a Washington state man, Charles Alan Wilson, with repeatedly making threatening calls to Sen. Patty Murray's Seattle office, threatening to kill her because of her support for the health care bill.
FBI agents say they arrested Wilson after getting telephone records and calling him to confirm that his voice matched the one left on voicemail in Sen. Murray's office.
And does ANYONE believe this is about health care? Please.

If Karzai's mental capacity is questioned? (Video) What next?
Obama Administration is now re-thinking meeting Karzai in May. The White House should, the man said he is tempted to join the Taliban because he is tired of U.S. intervention. Now, Karzai may have a substance abuse problem from his own country's "number one" product? If Afghanistan don't want us there, can we bring the troops home? The number one product is heroin....
Now the White House may cancel their May meeting with Karzai in Washington, D.C.
On the surface, Afghan President Hamid Karzai's angry, anti-Western flare-up after last week's visit by President Barack Obama might be dismissed as a minor glitch, a verbal clash of political cultures.
But Karzai lost face during Obama's lightning visit. Now, he must show the Afghan people that he is not a puppet of Washington, his protector in the intricate mire of Afghan politics.
This does nothing to help close fissures that are deep and serious. Obama and Karzai are at odds over the way forward in Afghanistan. The U.S. soon will have 100,000 troops battling militant Taliban insurgents and their al-Qaida allies across the border with Pakistan. Karzai wants to open negotiations with the Taliban.
A string of testy and threatening statements issued by Karzai has the White House reconsidering the Afghan leader's Washington visit on May 12.
