Oklahoma outing women who had abortions

Oklahoma plans to display all women who had an abortion, to put their information on a public website.

All I can type is that this shit is outrageous.

Many women have had abortions, for whatever reason, and yes, to some to SAVE THEIR LIVES, but to put this out there is totally bogus. And we can bet that it is the same old style of PALE, STALE, MALES that are making this type of decision in regards to women.

On Nov. 1, a law in Oklahoma will go into effect that will collect personal details about every single abortion performed in the state and post them on a public website. Implementing the measure will “cost $281,285 the first year and $256,285 each subsequent year.” Here are the first eight questions that women will have to reveal:

1. Date of abortion
2. County in which abortion performed
3. Age of mother
4. Marital status of mother (married, divorced, separated, widowed, or never married)
5. Race of mother
6. Years of education of mother (specify highest year completed)
7. State or foreign country of residence of mother
8. Total number of previous pregnancies of the mother: Live Births, Miscarriages,
Induced Abortions

Can I ask whose fucking business is this? And the Republican Party is wondering how they have lost and are still LOSING the women vote? Again, feels like you are in 1850, not 2009.

Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) tells woman the government can not help you for health care (Video)

*Woman*: Senator Coburn we need help. My husband has traumatic head injury. His insurance will not cover him to eat and drink. And what I need to know is, are you going to help him, where he can eat and drink? We left the nursing home and they told us we're on our own. He left with a feeding tube. I've been working with him, but I'm not a speech pathologist, a professional, that takes six years for a Masters, and I've tried to get him to eat and drink again and it's been so much - (cries)

Coburn: Well I think think personally, yeah we'll help. The first thing we'll do is see what we can do individually to help you, through our office. But the other thing that's missing in this debate is us, as neighbors, helping people that need our help. You know, we've had a - (applause). The idea that the government is a solution to our problems, is an inaccurate, a very inaccurate statement.

Rep. John Sullivan (R-OK) questions Obama's authenticity

Yes, birthers are alive and well throughout the health care town hall chaos!!!

The trend of controversial town halls contiuned on Friday when Rep. John Sullivan (R-Okla.) questioned the authenticity of President Barack Obama's birth certificate and referred to a White House "enemies list" at a meeting in Tulsa.

"This is a scary time in Washington," he said. "It's a very frightening time. I see Barack Obama is creating an enemies list of people who oppose this miserable health care plan. I think that's frightening. That's from a guy that can't even show a long-form birth certificate. I think we all ought to be prepared to fight that."

One audience member at the Tulsa Republican Club didn't think that was enough, berating Sullivan for not doing enough to uncover Obama's citizenship, the Tulsa World reported.

The man was shouted down by other audience members after about one minute.

Several Republicans have accused the White House of forming a health reform "enemies list" after it called for supporters to turn in "fishy" information about the health bill.

The White House has denied such charges, saying that press officials only want to respond to anti-health reform rhetoric.

When you can't win on policy, ideals you retreat to nonsense.

Rolleyes time: Sen. Inhofe (R-OK) on Obama's Speech, "I Just Don't Know Whose Side He's On"

Oh, brother.

Another dense, ridiculous statement. But one thing it does reveal, the narrow mindedness of many Republicans. As if George W. Bush was the best thing since sliced bread, only leaving with some of the worse polling numbers EVER of a former president with his sidekick, Dick Cheney nipping at the heels.

Whose side is he on? The Americans side, Senator Inhofe, and if you can't decipher that then just, "too bad, so sad".

Mark down Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) as one of the more outspoken critics of President Obama's speech yesterday in Egypt -- in fact, he told The Oklahoman the speech was "un-American" for calling the Iraq conflict a "war of choice."

Inhofe also blasted Obama for implying that torture had taken place at Guantanamo Bay: "There has never been a documented case of torture at Guantanamo."

"I just don't know whose side he's on," Inhofe added.
