I still expect Lambert's cd rollout to be huge in the fall, of course, after the American Idol tour.
American Idol’s glamtastic runner-up Adam Lambert opens up in the next issue of Rolling Stone, speaking frankly about his sexuality, though he doesn’t think his revelation is particularly shocking.
Wow, if Adam can get liberated, why not dismantle "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" in the U.S. Military? Ummmm.......Obama Administration are you listening??????
Folksy singer Kris Allen is the new “American Idol,” turning judges’ favorite Adam Lambert into an also-ran.
Host Ryan Seacrest said on Wednesday’s finale that nearly 100 million votes were cast for the finalists. The 23-year-old Allen, a student from Conway, Ark., bested the 27-year-old Lambert, a theater actor from San Diego.
The two-hour finale included performances by the Black Eyed Peas, Cyndi Lauper, Carlos Santana and Rod Stewart. Lambert performed with Kiss and Allen dueted with Keith Urban.
Before the announcement, the two finalists dueted on “We are the Champions” with the surviving members of Queen.
Allen gets a record contract along with his “American Idol” title.
As the finale got under way Wednesday, host Ryan Seacrest said more than 100 million votes were cast after Tuesday’s singing showdown between Lambert and Allen. A record-setting 624 million votes were cast over the season.
The two-hour finale featured a lineup of pop stars, including the Black Eyed Peas, Cyndi Lauper and Keith Urban.
Fox TV says a moment of silence during the Black Eyed Peas performance wasn’t the network’s doing.
Midway through the song “Boom Boom Pow,” TV viewers heard only silence and saw an “Idol” logo across the screen for a few moments. A Fox spokesman said it was singer will.i.am’s decision to stay mum, apparently to keep an expletive from airing during Wednesday’s performance.

OFF TOPIC
Two categories that throw these contestants. Country week and Motown week. Both are on the opposite ends of the spectrum, musically. Smokey Robinson was the mentor this week.
Here are the top performances for me.
Matt Giraud, singing the classic Marvin Gaye song, "Let's Get it On". This song DEFINED Marvin Gaye, to touch it, you better be on. Matt was.
Kris Allen sang "How Sweet it is to be Loved by You". He spinned this song and made it his own. This guy gets better every week.
Allison Irheta sang the Temptations classic, "Papa was a Rolling Stone". She ended the show with a bang. She turned this song, ROCK, and sang it her way, good job.
Anoop Desai sang the Smokey Robinson classic, "Ooooh, Baby, Baby". This song you need to have your falsetto on point and the melody tight. He did a good job with this song.
Finally, Adam Lambert was the most memorable of Motown Week. He sang the classic Smokey Robinson song, "Tracks of my Tears". When he was done, Smokey was in the audience and stood up and gave him a standing ovation. Adam reminds me of Taylor Hicks, but only on this point, he knows how to perform. Hicks was a mediocre singer who knew how to perform, as Adam not only knows how to perform, but understands his instrument and can deliver as Hicks could not.
First off, Anoop Desai redeemed himself after that DISASTROUS performance of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" last week. Tonight he sang the Willie Nelson classic, "You are always on my mind" and nailed it. Lately, he has picked young, upbeat songs which is fine, but last week, LORD, I was with Simon he could have easily LEFT. Tonight as Simon stated he, "Went from zero to hero". Yes, he was good.
Danny Gokey. He is the one to take down. He has that Michael McDonald thing going. Again, he started off in low caliber to pick it up to fervor by the end. The son was Carrie Underwood's, "Jesus Takes the Wheel". My only thing about him, he need to start switching it up. Starting off slow and clinching it in the end is good, but it can become redundant.
Megan Joy sang Patsy Cline's "Walkin' After Midnight". I liked the performance, it was different and she made this classic her own version. Will she win it all? No, the competition, especially from the men, is too steep, but she will hang around until next week.
Matt Giraud was last and for many maybe the best. He sang Carrie Underwood's "So Small" and nailed it. Totally memorable performance.
Honorable Mention:
Kris Allen, singing "To Make You Feel My Love". He was good but may be overshadowed by Anoop and Danny's performance.
And a hot mess tonight, Adam Lambert. Loved him last week, hated his performance this week.
Everyone else, meh, even Lil Rounds. Love her but the song was just OK, for me.
Off Topic: Ok, this is my thang, American Idol. It was Michael Jackson night. Jackson is one of the hardest performers to sing, but here are my favorites. First, Danny Gokey from Milwaukee, WI. Singing PYT, he LAID.IT.OUT.
Adam Lambert from San Diego, CA, sang "Black or White". One of the best performances I have ever watched on American Idol. This man needed to be in the recording studio, YESTERDAY. He was that GOOD.
Lil Rounds from Memphis, TN, sang "The Way You Make Me Feel". She made this song her own, with that bluesy funk on that song. Girl can sing.
Kris Allen from Arkansas, sang "Remember the Time". I liked it and the dude can sing.
These were the memorable performances for me. The ones who are in the bottom? Anoop Desai and Jorge Nunez. Both totally forgettable and lackluster.
