Obama's Town Hall Meeting On-Line Today

Interesting concept.

One thing I do give the Obama Administration credit for, they try everything when it comes to keeping in touch with the American public. The reason for the credit is because it is easy to get caught up in the "D.C. bubble". Easy to listen to the chatter in D.C. and forget what the folks in the rest of the country are saying. Ask George W. Bush, who hardly ever left Washington, D.C. He left office one of the most out of touch presidents we had.

Today President Obama will participate in an online town hall meeting at 11:30AM EST, voting closes at 9:30A EST.

"Here's how it works,'' explains Mitch Stewart, director of Organizing for America, the permanent Obama campaign that the DNC is overseeing. "President Obama is inviting everyone to ask a question about the economy and to rate other questions up or down.''

Thursday morning, the president will conduct an online "town hall" on the economy and answer some of the most popular questions live.

"This first round will deal with the economy,'' Stewart is telling supporters of the president in an email. "Americans deserve to know what their government is doing to get our economy back on track.''
