Simply Beautiful and I Love this website! I'm converted!! lol
I went to the Lake Worth event which was a sneak peak into what an Obama Presidency will look like and all I can say is I CAN'T WAIT! Here we had the best and the brightest (CEO of Google, Paul Volker, Richardson, Governors of Ohio, Michigan and Colorado) discussing what we need to do to shore up our economy both in the short and long run. Obama presided over this event and we got to witness firsthand a) the respect this group had for him 2) how he LISTENS to people and respects other's opinions. How refreshing after the last 8 years of "I'm the decider!".
He offered his opinions, never took over from the panel - but all eyes were on him. You just can't help it. He just commands respect in his quiet way. As an example, we had a large very vocal African-American group who were cheer leading as Obama was trying to start the economic discussion and he quietly said "now, now. no cheerleading. You can do this at the end of the discussion if you want". And, the hall went quiet - just like that. I loved the mix of people in the crowd, all of us showing our love and admiration for our candidate(S) (all the leading Florida Democrats were there - Wexler, Deutsch, Wasserman-Shultz, Hastings)
Jane - thank you for sharing your positive experience at the Lake Worth Conference. It is refreshing to know that we can have a leader that understands how to follow. The greatest leader is a follower! With Biden's statements - over the weekend - taken out of context we need to see Obama in a situation outside the rallys that requires his leadership.
