Oh my God. These pictures brought tears to my eyes. I was born in St. Louis and have many family members there so I was very proud to see folks desparate for change turn out in these big numbers. However, I am not at all surprised that Obama's attendance is growing. I'm a grassroots organizer in Las Vegas and today was our first day of early voting. We organized a very successful "March for Change to the Early Polls" and had over 300 people show up to march to the early polling location. What convinced me that folks are truly committed to change is each person waited in line at least an hour or two to cast their vote for Obama/Biden and not one person complained. Everyone was upbeat and excited to cast their historic vote.

Part 2 of comment above. What made me most proud was that a traditionally high number of African Americans in this particular community in Las Vegas don't come out to vote. They did TODAY. African Americans all over Las Vegas joined the residents of West Las Vegas, joined hands and marched to the polls. Afterwards, we enjoyed an early vote rally where food, speakers, etc celebrated together. The March started at 10am and when I left at 2p.m. the line still went out the door as more residents of Las Vegas joined the March on the poll. I can't wait to see the actual number of votes cast when the report comes out Monday.
this pictures rock. I don't tell you all the time, but your pics and diaries are must reads for me.
I was at the rally in KC and it was amazing too. They estimated 75,000. Also Obama went by the campaign ofice and made phone calls for an hour before he spoke at the rally. What an amazing man!!

As a Field Organizer in rural MO, I am delighted that Missourians from all over the state had an opportunity to hear Senator Obama. We are fighting for every vote in Missouri.

Amen to "ccblackcaucus," with each picture that I saw of this historical moment, the words, "Oh My God!" proceeded to flow from my lips! Yes, tears too,...and I am as white as one can be! This moment in time, is our time, to heal, to do what is right and to return to the values of our constitution! I am so proud of our nation, to be able to heal from the deep wounds and scars upon our national soul, from ignorance, hatred and bigitory to,...come to the point where we, as a nation, can judge a person to lead our great nation, not by the color of his skin,...but by the content of his character! And to think that Barack Obama was nominated on the anniversary of Martin Luthers famous "I have a dream," speech! I am so honoured witness this moment in time! God Bless America!
This is beautiful!!! His crowds always reminds me of Martin Luther King Jr.'s Lincoln memorial speech. Look at that. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
Do You have any larger photos aside from the resized 600px photos that were resized?

I wonder how many folks are aware that Barack Obama's enthusiastic rally in St. Louis, was located at the site of the Dred Scott decision, which makes it both currently and historically moving. I wish my parents were alive to see this.
