FLOTUS, Michelle Obama favorable in new poll

Well, we have come a very long way from the campaign trail when many in the media tried to smear Michelle Obama. Remember, she was supposed to make us run for cover, with her supposedly Anti-American rhetoric? Then the Democratic Convention came, the Obama Girls and their interaction with their father on national televison just stopped all that rhetoric cold.

Michelle Obama has been called a closer because many women, as well as men, can relate to her. She is not a woman who was fed with a silver spoon, but was grateful to have a spoon. Her persona is not one of privileged but of hard work ethic. Don't take the American public as air heads, they can sniff a fake and phoney on the trail, that was not Michelle Obama. This is a woman who kept and is still keeping it real.

Now since she has ascended into the White House and is the First Lady of this land, lovingly called FLOTUS, (First Lady of the United States) she is on the move, assembling and creating her agenda, and letting the POTUS (President of the United States) know first hand what the public is thinking when she is out there.

It is no surprise that she has become popular. Websites have popped up all over following her, like Michelle Obama Watch and Mrs. O. How do I know about these sites? Because I am one of the followers!!

Now to the CBS Poll. Michelle Obama is viewed more favorably than any other First Lady in 30 years. YES, what a difference a campaign trail makes!!

Overall, 49 percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of the first lady, just 5 percent view her unfavorably and 44 percent don’t yet have an opinion. In a February 1993 Times/CBS poll, 44 percent expressed a favorable view of Hillary Rodham Clinton, while 16 percent viewed her unfavorably. And early into Ronald Reagan’s first term in office, 28 percent rated Nancy Reagan positively, 10 percent negatively, with the rest offering no opinion.

Not surprisingly, Democrats, liberals and women are among Mrs. Obama’s biggest fans. Seven in 10 Democrats and 2 in 3 liberals have a favorable opinion of her. Most women, 56 percent, also view her positively, compared with 41 percent of men. Still, Republicans, conservatives and men are not substantially more apt to view her negatively, they’re just much more likely to be withholding judgment just yet.
